4b provided telecommunication design services and communications construction administration services to support the expansion of the Terminal “D” In-line EDS Baggage Handling System. The system facilitates improved screening capabilities for international and domestic bags checked in Terminal D. The design items include the creation of a new telecommunication room and engineering of a redundant fiber optic backbone to allow for remote monitoring of the baggage screening process. The in-line baggage belts traverse the entirety of Terminal D, requiring significant telecommunications relocation and phasing. The bag belt installation requires relocation of the following; airport voice and data systems, airline ticket counters, passenger screening checkpoint areas, wireless Internet access equipment, Distributed Antenna, Public Address and Baggage Information Display Systems (BIDS).
